Hi guys - does anyone know if you can use the PVR250 with a cable box? I can't seem to find definite information anywhere.

I swear I didn't scroll down before posting. We're in the same boat, apparently. I would ASSUME we can; all the PVR250 does is record input. In our situation, I believe we can still record, but we have to set it up manually, i.e. Have the cable box turned ON and playing whatever channel we want to capture; we then set the PVR to turn ON at this time and OFF at this time.

Someone clarify, please! :)

definitely. LINK to IR Blasters

Wow, cool stuff!!!! I have to look into that. I have a Hughes DTV receiver...and my HTPC obviously has serial and USB/Firewire ports. Thanks!!

Awesome, thanks Linflas!

I do have an ATI AIW 9000 and the Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP. The ATI is okay, but the Leadtek's sound doesn't work. :/

Yeah I am definitely going to check out that serial cable. I am using a Sony DirecTV receiver and that thing sounds like just the ticket to not have to schedule the programs on the satellite box scheduler.

So what software do you guys use when you record? Or rather, what would be the best software to use (with the PVR250)?
