TV TUNER CARD + HDTV exist???

is there such a thing guys. one card that does hdtv and cable tv? i was using a viewsonic n6 but it was horrible.
 
I know some of the ATI cards have HD out... it's a DVI-to-Component adapter. That's for HD out though. I'm not sure if any cards have the actual HD converter in them.

There are no component capture cards (at least not in the consumer price bracket), if that's what you want. There are several OTA HD tuner cards, most of which can also tune SD/cable as well (such as the ATI HDTV Wonder).

Unfortunately, there's like a total of 3 of those on most cable system. The only way most people are going to enjoy an HDTV signal on their computer is if they're lucky enough to have a reciever that outputs an unencrypted copy of the stream over Firewire.🙁

HD cards are primarily for OTA, which offers plenty of good HD content. QAM is being added now to a couple cards, but not as the primary function. QAM isn't needed for an HD card to be worthwhile.
