I picked up a 27" Sharp TV today for $30, and the picture is rotated to the right..so I'm guessing the tube isn't set up properly in there and if you can somehow rotate it it'll look normal again. Would this be possible simply by opening up the TV and trying to see if I can physically move it to where it's supposed to be?

Yes you must open up the tv. Touch as much metal parts as you can find. After touching enough of the metal parts. The TV will be fixed.

ROLF.

That sh!t could kill you!

I'd suggest calling Sharp if its under warranty, other wise I wouldn't' mess to much with it, they hold a charge and even when its unplugged the zap from it could possibly kill you.

Don't unplug it though, or the TV will just reset.

You might need to use a long screw driver to get to all the metal parts, You must be touching the metal shaft of the screwdriver. If you only hold the handle the TV will not be fixed.

heheh some of these replies are spot on;). I have an addition, if the TV is flatscreen, there may be a "tilt" correction in the menu. If its not in the consumer menu, it may be in the service menu. search google for the service menu for your tv.

hmm if you ground out all the parts you can find would it ruin the tv or just make it safe to work on?

My Sony Vega has a setting where I can control the "tilt" of the screen. I guess this Sharp doesn't have that feature?

If the menu's tilt correction has no effect (its maxed out either left or right), then something may be wrong with the tv. Try moving the tv, sometimes the magnetic field of the earth can change that much causing the picutre to level/tilt.
