TV Show DVDs = Way overpriced :(

$85.99 tax and s/h included was the cheapest I could find! 🙁

Am I the only one that thinks that's outrageous?

Well, it's still cheaper than buying anime. $25 per 4 episode disk from a series with at least 26 episodes. Ouch.

Yeah. I've wanted to buy the Shield seasons one and two, but can't justify spending $40 on a tv show that only has what....12 episodes a year? Ridiculous.

imo, they aren't that badly priced compared to movies on dvd. $10-20 for a 2 hour movie vs. $40 for 22 1 hour (okay, 48 minutes without ads) episodes of a show = advantage: TV on dvd. It's just a lot to shell out in one sitting.

Lately I've been disillusioned with buying movies on dvd anyway. There will always be a special edition coming out in 6 months and the technology itself is going to be kicked to the curb soon enough anyway. At least I know that there won't be a special edition West Wing Season 1 coming anytime soon.

Edit: Although there are exceptions -- HBO shows are often a lot more expensive than I want to spend (like the Sopranos, for instance).

Wrong.

As has been pointed out, when you consider the amount of discs/episodes you're getting, it's not that bad.

Check out Hollywood Video's Movie Value Pass - $9.99 for the first 3 months, unlimited rentals with 3 out at a time.

I would, but most of the times the quality isn't that great. Not to mention they usually have watermarks of the station...
