TV question

I am building a completely new Desktop PC. I will be using a eVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperSC video card, which has a HDMI out. I also have a less-than-year-old 32" LED TV with HDMI which is presently hooked up to Direct TV.
My question: Is there anyway that I can hook up this TV as a monitor, and still be able to switch back to Direct TV? Some kind of splitter perhaps? Is this a dumb question? Thanks

Do you need a switch? If the TV has multiple HDMI inputs, you just change the input selection on the TV.

L.M. that looks as if that is just exactly what I need. I have HMDI coming out of my Direct TV box and I will have an HDMI outlet on my graphics card which I assume will supply video to a monitor. Qlso I am assuming that my LED TV will respond to my graphics card. As you can see I have very little knowledge about this. Thanks for your good info.

Does that switch "hold" the signal from the input devices that "lose focus?" Or does it have to make another EDID handshake when you return to those devices?

I was using an HDMI switch to supplmement my old KVM. Worked -- but not "gracefully." Just had to ask.
