i'm using tv-out with my ati 9600. i have some questions.

1) when i use the tv as clone of desktop, everything appears fine except videos are blank. if i make the tv extended display, videos show fine. why is this? any way around it?

2) colors appear very white and washed compared to the computer display, and doesn't appeare as rich. adjusting the tv out settings only helps so much. is this typical for all video cards, or just 9600, or just ati?
 
I think the video issue is something to do with overlay. There are a bunch of threads on the problem already. It's an easy fix, but I've never had to do it so I'm not familiar with it.

Have you tried messing with the settings of the tv itself?
