TV Out: VGA To S-video Converter

Hey guys,
I'm building a home theater pc to go in my living room and I need some form of TV out. Right now I have a geforce ddr(without tv out) video card in there along with a leadtek tv2000xp deluxe. If I buy a VGA to S-video converter will that work well with my geforce ddr? Will the quality not be as good as a newer card with tv out built into the card?

thanks for any input

I think you're better off just buying any recent card with native s-video output. The quality will be better, you'll still have a monitor and models with at least the performance of your GF are getting pretty cheap.

yeah I have a geforce 3 in my other comp that I rarely play games on, so I may upgrade that and use it in my home theater computer. But I really don't need performance with the media computer, just good picture quality, 'cause I'll never be playing games or anything

Devices that convert VGA to TV-out still cost around $150. You can easily get a new AGP video card with good svideo-out for less than that. Perhaps one of the lower end Radeons would be a good choice.

I was looking at some connectors on ebay for about $5-$10 shipped

that wouldn't do the trick?
