My tv out on the Voodoo 3 3000 agp card wont work anymore...
I didnt use it for a long time then tried it the other day and the picture is all bright white and fuzzy on tv.
Only change I can think of is I installed direct x 8.1.
Or did I fry the tv out maybe ? when I plugged it in again.
any ideas?
It used to work fine in win me and on this machine...
anyone know whats the best drivers or is there a patch for the tv out I can try?
thanks for any info

Have you changed driver revision or OS since you last used the TV-Out?

Well yes I have tried to update the v3k drivers but the last ones were 1.07 ....
I have reformatted since the last time I used it but same OS win me.
I just installed new Logitech drivers for the mouse thinking that might have affected the refresh rates but no luck...
It is on screen but flickering and flashing so much I cant watch it ...seems like a refresh rate issue to me or something similar..
thanks

I think the DX8 is the problem...? Those cards were not designed for it and most likely would have driver issues with it as well and the TV out feature would go hand in hand with that... You might try to uninstall DX8 and drop back to 6 or 7 and give that a try...?

Does anyone have any other ideas?
I tried reinstalling a ghost image I had before dx 8 it is 7.1
same thing..
I tried 3rd party voodoo 3 drivers...same thing different refresh rates...same
as soon as I enable tv out the tv flickers like crazy if there is any motion on the screen like a movie etc....
but while just viewing desktop its ok.
is there any setting for interlaced video somewhere?
I wonder if its an interlaced signal problem or if the tv out is actually fried...
thanks

I have a V3 3000 that I now have boot up directly to a tv (no monitor) and I have Direct-X 8 installed. Mine is on Win98 SE, and worked well with the OEM drivers, and works just as well with some 3rd party drivers I've been using for a few months.

Are you trying to use a monitor and a tv at the same time? I know that seriously messes the signal to both... and you have to be sure to check (or uncheck) the box to make sure when the tv is being used, that the monitor isn't. Do you have the latest 3dfx tool panel installed? There are a bunch of settings in there that help clear up / stabilize the signal... Just some ideas...

Thanks 77 not sure if it is the latest tools ...what version is the latest?
Thing is it used to work with the monitor at the same time...
Ill try to disable the monitor but I hope I can see it good enough on the tv to restart...lol
thanks

I'm not sure what the latest version of tools is, but I can look later...

If you set it up to use the tv and want to reboot straight to the tv you must physically detach the vga connector from the video card. Even if you choose tv in the tools panel, when it reboots it will default to vga if it detects it.

You can test this clarity problem I described without rebooting, though... It has that 15 second confirmation button, if it's too fuzzy just wait 15 seconds and it goes back to vga automatically... if it's o.k., click confirm (or whatever the button is).
