tv-out help

Hello everyone,
i can get the picture on the tv but there is no sound. i have the tv hooked up with the s-video wire and as for the other 2 wires for the sound(white, red ones) i'm kinda clueless. With my old comp i just plugged it into my sound card and it was fine. but this computer uses Motherboard sound. i have a ASUS SLI Premium but no matter where i plugged in the wires i dont get any sound. do i need to buy a soundcard?

You need one of these.

Just plug the single mini/plug connection into the light green or output of the motherboard audio and of course the color coded end into an input of whatever receiver or speaker system you are using for your home theater.

ya everything is on max

Do you have a set of computer speakers or a pair of headphones to plug into the integrated sound to see what the output level is like on the integrated sound?

Computer Speakers are connected and the volume is perfectly fine

So when you plug into the tv, the volume is just very quiet, but it works?

Do other components plugged into that input on your tv work normally?

Also, are your computer speakers good? Any reason you don't want to use them instead of the tv speakers?

when i plug the sound from my speakers to the tv it works but very quiet.
Otherthings work perfectly like my console.
My speakers are fine the only reason i want the tv is so that when i goto the living room i can hear whats going on when watching something.

How long is the cable?
Have you tried other cables?
Does there sound like there is interference in the sound you can hear?

What wattage output does your soundcard give?
What wattage input do your tv speakers need?

Well my tv-out worked perfectly fine with my old comp so im sure the problem isnt with the wires nor the wattage. um the only problem i've noticed besides the low volume is that the tv's picture starts to lag, while on my desktop screen everything is fine.
