TV mounting on top of fireplace

My BiL had his TV over the fireplace (used often)-it lasted about a year. His new TV is now mounted on the other side of the room.
 
I have my TV mounted about the Fireplace. It is at least 5 feet up angled down and the room is big enough that it not like im sitting under it cranning my neck upwards. It a gas FP and completely enclosed so no smoke to worry about.
