TV is absolute CRAP these days

I actually found myself checking out 5 HEAVY novels this week. TV is THAT BAD. Even Conan barely makes me chickle now if at all. His interviews are still great though.

The only thing I can sincerely watch with joy is the Discovery Channel's Engineering series and their science shows, and pretty much anything o nthe History channel. Modern marvels ROCKS!

Is "the painted house," good by Grisham? I have yet to start it.

Honestly, I even find myself watching CSpan these days. There morning program with the call-ins is VERY informative.

I even caught myself watching a senate hearing after work the other day.😕

1. You're spoilt
2. So many channels that it's almost impossible to find the decent programs.
3. You're getting older and therefor don't enjoy the same programs anymore.
4. Who needs TV anyway, the Internet provides better entertainment most of the time. (And the few series on TV that are worth watching you can just download)

ditto. Everything is crap besides a few exceptions, and I can't STAND everything else

I watch dvd's of my choice these days. Got fed up with tv content and got rid of cable. Got to the point where I was watching the news and mabe science/history stuff and then the bums jacked the price up to 40.00 for extended basic..so I got rid of it. Overvalued service..

i dunno, i like alias/24/practice/csi and law and order is pretty reliable too. clone high was pretty good, too bad its in limbo like family guy and futurma🙁 lotsa good stuff on pbs and hbo too. griping is easy, but just as there is plenty of cr@p theres plenty of good stuff too. just like anything else. 99% of published novels are rubbish🙂

seriously, they let anyone publish these days.. ann coulter? yea i know its not technically a novel, but it does contain fiction😉 just look at some chick lit, devil wears prada? *barf*

i rented family guy dvds, that series is awesome🙂

The only reason I still watch TV is I get my provider's full digital cable package, which offers 60 pay channels. I watch movies all the time. I haven't watched any prime time TV programming in years.

When I hear people talk about what is on ABC, CBS, and NBC I thnk they are joking me because it sounds so lame.

Very true...I never thought I'd say this, but Discovery is becoming one of my favorite channels....be sure to check out Mythbusters - fun show

Yes, that is a very good show. Lots of great topics are discussed - and then the call-in line is provided. It seems like a good source to gather opinions from many parts of the country for a particular show.

My rant: Series shows on TV don't usually start until the end of September. They throw 4 new episodes at us, then we have to watch re-runs during late-October, early-November until some new episodes get into circulation. Then, the season ends during the first week of May - and we are back to re-runs. 🙁 -- this fact alone has made me pay less attention to TV.

Some great programming on those channels. I'd add TLC and HGTV to the list, too.

I've noticed the same thing. Discovery Channel and TLC are turning to crap, and the History Channel seems it is starting to as well. Thank God I have found History International and Discovery Science though. Usually there will be something interesting on at least one of them. Problem is we don't have them in the dorms, just regular cable. Oh, well at least when I go home I have something to watch. Besides, I hardly ever watch TV anymore, which is odd because I used to watch it all the time.

TV really sucks, yes
shows like

Malcolm in the middle... lame
Everybody hates Raymond... lame
all those other stupid sitcoms i turn on the TV and havent even heard of.... lame
needless to say, i hardly watch 2 hours a week.. i make sure it's the simpsons or something (even that sucks lately)

I watch HBO and Discovery Channel for the most part. I just got hooked on Monster House after the last couple of episodes where there were fights or near fights. I always liked Monster Garage and Orange County Chopper. Mythbusters is pretty cool too
