TV Gurus Help me out

I'd like to know what my options are for around $1000.

I'm **hoping** for around 37"

I've looked into the 42 inch Samsung DLP, seems pretty nice for the price.

I'd like the TV to be able to do 720P and 1080i... 1080P seems way too expensive ATM.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated, Thanks!

For $1000, a good 37" LCD is all you can hope for. Costco has some. Most $1000 DLPs are garbage, but if you can score a newer Samsung or Panasonic for that price, go for it.

I wish I had scored the Westinghouse 42" 1080p for $1499 but I waited too long 🙁

My college TV = computer tv tuner card and video inputs.

Tip for you: keep your tv in your own room or parental control anything not TV-Y if you don't want your roommates watching your TV. It usually starts out you are cool with letting your roommates use your TV, but then you realize "wtf, I rarely get to use my TV!", and when you want to use it, they complain they are watching their tv show.
