TV Card, TV Card????

I've got my sites set on the ATI TV Wonder VE. Anyone with a better suggestion for a TV Card under $50? And onther thing. Where can I get a PAL version - if it exists?

Check out the TV Tuner made by Leadtek... it retails for about $60 (a little over your budget) but from what I've heard its performance and quality is superior to the ATi varients. Also, the drivers for this card where specifically made with Win XP in mind.

I second the Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP card, it's not a bad price and it has alot of extra features as well as better WinXP support than the Ati tv wonder cards. Another card to look at would be the WinTv cards from Hauppauge, they might be a bit higher, but they're top rate cards too.

I also agree.

I use the Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP card and it replaced my ati tv card.
Easy to install and use.
It is stable right out the box and I can even capture at a high rez with out using third party software.

and got vcdhelp.com for user reviews on TV pci cards.

What?

😕

I replaced my ATI TV Wonder with an Avermedia TV Studio. The main reason was that ATI blows in terms of driver development and I got tired of waiting for fully functional XP drivers. The Avermedia works very well for me. Full stereo, great visual quality, FM Stereo and awesome Tivo-like time shifting.

It is similar in price to the Leadtek. I think I paid around $65.

Do NOT get an ATI TV Wonder VE with WinXP. The drivers suck big time. I replaced my ATI TV Wonder with the Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP card. Much better.

On the other hand if you have Win 98 the ATI TV Wonder VE works very well. BTW you do know that the ATI TV Wonder VE has mono sound. The ATI TV Wonder has stereo sound.

HTH

Edit: Where are my manners, welcome to the Forums friend. Go forth and post.

Hey LuDaCriS66, you are a rare breed that is able to get good results from the ATI TV Wonder with WinXP. Wish you would post your sytem specs so we can see what's up.

I also get good performance in XP with a regular TV wonder.

I use Descaler and Powervcr. Both work great.
