I cant get the damn Drivers to install!!
Everthing seems to go fine and shows in device manager but when I go to install the tuner program it says there are no drivers installed and that I need to install them first.I tried and tried, removing the device from device manager, rebooting then reinstalling the drivers but windows now auto detects the card and installs the drivers on its own(without using the CD).
IS THERE A WAY TO DELETE the drivers out of windows so that I have to use the CD to reinstall them?
I have been working on this for over FIVE HOURS and I am getting no where!!!
I have changed PCI slots,rebooted a hundred times,removed the devices(tv tuner Video,Audio,video capture,Audio Capture) from the devise Manager,rebooted some more...........Still nothing!
I have windows 98 SE,1200Mhz athlon,Dainward (nividia) 64 mb AGP,soundblaster live XGAmer.
I am trying to install the AVERMEDIA TV98 STEREO PCI Tv tuner card W/ personal video recorder.
SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME,Im almost in tears here!

Try going into "safe" mode and removing the devices.
Check the "software" applet in control panel and see
if something is listed there for it.
Go into the "Windows" folder
and look for the inf\other folder & remove any .inf files
that pertain to the card.
After you reboot, it should ask for a driver file (hopefully).
YMMV

try running regedit.exe and going into hkey_local_machine then software or hardware, and check for instances of your tv tuner then deleting them.
