My friend wants a tv card, and I don't know much about them. He tried a ati tv wonder and said it wasn't compatible with his video card. So can you guys please suggest a tv card that will work with a gf3ti200. Thanks!!

ATI TV Wonder & TV Wonder VE works fine. I think your friend didn't install it properly, or his card was DOA.

Your friend may have meant that the box didnt mention his card as being compatible. Mine was not listed either, but worked fine.

well, he tried the card and it didn't work. a different friend also read up on the tv wonder, and told me that there have been cases where it wasn't compatible. also, he will be running winxp. so whatever tv card you guys can recommend will have to have xp drivers. thanks for all your input so far!

ati tv wonder was a reminent of the old ati's 'let's make bad drivers' philosophy that ended when the radeon's came out.

Make sure your friend has the latest version of the multi-media center, or just return it for a hauppage wintv card. Those cards are by-far the best i've ever used. avermedia makes some nice ones too, all WDM compatible.

I bought that Leadtek TV2000/XP TV capture card last week, and it works great. I won't say it is flawless 'cause when I use an RCA input (my DC) things don't look as clear as it does on the TV (probably the interlacing/deinterlacing). But if he just wants to spend under 100 bucks for a TV card, I think this Leadtek will do just fine. Otherwise, try looking into (I think it is) Happauge's WinTV PVT or something. It is supposed to be awesome, and has an on-board mpeg encoding chip for when he wants to capture things straight to high-quality mpeg. Hope this helps!

I have a GF3Ti200 with the ATI TV Wonder and they work fine together. If he'ds running WinXP tell him to get PowerVCR II, it is a better option for the TV tunning than ATI's MMC.
