i have read, that during tv capture it is better to have the operating system on a separate drive from the one to which the capture is being written. does this mean a separate physical drive with a separate ide connection, or does it mean on a different partition.
 
well I think the best possibility is a seperate physical drive on a seperate ide channel, but this is not always possible so seperate drive at least. Seperate partition if you can't even do this, just to keep the fragmentation low since it won't help performance much being on the same physical drive.
