I agreed to tutor this kid who just graduated hs. He needs to take a trig type placement test b4 he can register for his fall classes at Purdue. So, seeing as how I've never been paid for tutoring, at least with money ;), I have no clue what's fair to charge.

If it makes a difference I'm a junior in college, EE.

Let me guess. He needs to take the Math 153 examination at Purdue. On another note, I was making $7/hr untaxed to tutor German to some of the athletes at Purdue. It worked out to about $10/hr since no taxes were taken out.

i would say 15 at least (20 is reasonable for college level tutoring). unless he agreed to pay you for several sessions up front, at which point you could give him a break (-$5/hour)

I tutored an ex in calculus last year and helped her pass the class/AP exam. I tutored in hs for credit after AP tests. I've been told I'm good at it....

Yeah, I was thinking the neighborhood of $15-$20 would be fair. Sounds to me like he's lookin for about a week of tutoring, maybe 1-2 hours a night.
