Tutorials for coding blogs, or GOOD premade code?

I want:

To be able to host the blog on my site and have it look the way I want it to look.

To be able to add/edit/delete posts via a passworded page from wherever I am, but I don't want any little edit tags or anything like that to people who visit.

Platform? There are tons of blog packages. DasBlog is one I have been looking at the ASP.

Thanks, I didn't realize wordpress had an independent version too, only their hosted version.

The success of the open source app led to the creation of wordpress.com. FYI, the multiple-user version of WordPress, used in some fashion by wordpress.com and some hosting companies, is called mu WordPress.
