Tutorial needed for new computer build

Although familiar with the care and feeding of computers, I am a noob at building a Pentium computer and would appreciate finding a published or online tutorial of the steps that are necessary before installing WinXP. For example, after installing the video card and connecting the monitor, do I leave the RAID 0 HDDs disconnected as well as the DVD-ROM disconnected and get into the BIOS and make the timing and other changes (what other changes are recommended) or ...? The Asus mobo manual is well-written, but a tutorial in the exact sequence of steps, including main BIOS settings, would be very helpful for us newbies.

Welcome to the Forums MikeSp 🙂 Besides the guide, which now has photos for the physical installation of a Pentium4 thanks to Vegetto's help, we can also help you with your more specific questions. 🙂 It sounds like you got your motherboard already, is that right? Which model of Asus is it? What other parts do you have?
