Turtle Beach Santa Cruz crackle?

I'm having a problem with the sound on the new Nascar 2002 game. On top of the sound that is suppossed to be there I also get some white noise, crackle, static sounds. My card and speakers sound great with anything else I use them for. Any suggestions? I'm a bare bones newbie so try to keep things simple. Thanks in advance.

Hello.

I was going to post, but I am having a very similar problem. Whenever I click a menu, or right click to get a popup menu, the sound makes a crackling/hissing noise. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, but it did not help. I have been running this card in WinXP, and it was fine for nearly 1 month. However, they have gotten kind of bad in the last week or two.

Anyone else having this problem?

I had a problem with all sounds giving only slight pop and crackles.
I messed about with the PCI Latency Timer within BIOS to a resonable level. I think I am at 50 at moment, I beleive default is 32.
You just have to be careful not too give too much otherwise other devices may suffer.

I set my PCI latency timer to 0. I've never had any issues with any components, except my Live! which just one day started crackling. I fixed that by putting in an SC. 🙂

Doh!

I think I'm going to trash this board, get a P4 1.6a combo, and reinstall WinXP, as I'm havin lots of problems with it.
