Any recommendations and views on how the gameplay is? It's selling at a little less than $10 at a local gaming store where I live so I'm wondering if I should pick it up?

The original? Well, both Dinosaur Hunter and Seeds of Evil are amazing in my book, especially Seeds of Evil, but if you can get Turok, then yes, of course, buy it, it's very fun, but it was built for Windows 98, so if you run it on XP then I recommend running it under Windows 98 or 2000 compatibility mode, and if you're on Vista try it regularly at first, and if you're experiencing any issues then trying running under XP compatibility mode.

In terms of game-play, well, it's the good 'ol Turok, can't go wrong with that, but I am biased because I'm a Turok (old Turok games) fan, for me Turok 2 is the best FPS ever created (closely followed by DOOM II, then Half-Life, System Shock 2, Deus Ex, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Half-Life 2, and finally Halo: Combat Evolved), but for some people out there that statement might have more to do with mental illness than anything else, but it's my taste. But Turok 2 is the epitome of FPS gaming. I didn't like Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, but even that one is an exemplary game when you compare it to the latest Turok game released under the UE3 engine, that one is a disgrace, an heresy, and it should have never have been invented or at least never had been called Turok at all, heck, even Turok: Evolution is much, much better than that thing they called a Turok game, bunch of idiots.

Anyway... yeah, get Turok if you can, it's rare by now, and it's a classic, some people may not know but the Turok franchise on the Nintendo 64 (Turok, Turok 2, Turok 3 and Rage Wars) represent the third most popular FPS "name" right after Perfect Dark and Goldeneye 007. Sadly and unfortunately Turok and Turok 2 on PC never received any enhancements, but at least you can run them at high resolutions, even with a wide screen monitor (search Google for that, but if I remember correctly I think I found the solution to make it work under wide screen resolutions at a web site called widescreengaming.com, or something similar, that was a long time ago), and you can add A-A and A-F as well which helps increase the image quality, obviously.

EDIT: I forgot, if you were referring to the latest Turok which I mentioned above, then no, do yourself a favor and stay away from it.

Many thanks for the reply! :)

This is the one I was referring to: Turok. Guess thats exactly the one you said wasn't good right? I won't buy it in that case.

Not a good game. There's plenty of other solid fps on pc. $10 won't kill you, but Turok is astoundingly average at best.
