So you would know what time it is. (The "duh" is implied).
but i'll just use a digital.
there's no need for analog clocks or watches anymore, it's like using an abacus instead of a calculator.

A nice analog watch looks good on the wrist.but i'll just use a digital.

Hipster credanalog clocks are pointless, i can read one but why would i want to?

They both tell the time just as well as each other and an analog wall clock doesn't look ridiculous like a digital one does.but i'll just use a digital.

1:20pmWhat time is "5 of 9?"
(to you)
25 or 6 to 4
If Dante knew about earworms, he'd have added another circle to hell for occasions like this.Does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anybody really care?
What time is "5 of 9?"
(to you)
Is that actually a thing? I would have no idea what that means either. Sounds like some weird way of telling time.
If I had to guess I would think it's 5 minutes to 9, or maybe 5 minutes after 9. Or maybe 9 minutes to or from 5. No idea how you would get 1:20pm out of that.
Five minutes to nine is correct.
Your right. What's wrong is the ninety percent of people who think "most people" share their viewpoint while the rest are just wrong.Yeah. There are a few areas of the US where they commonly state time this way. The majority of US citizens don't speak that way and have never heard it spoken that way. I've never even heard that in movies or TV. Still, the people that grew up around it are 100% "certain" that everyone knows what "5 of 9" means. They are wrong. I'm 37 years old. Never heard it until about 5 years ago. My sister threw a fit after she failed to effectively communicate the time and couldn't think of any other way to clarify what "5 of 9" means.

Nah. It will just be like how a save icon looks like a floppy drive, but youngsters haven't ever seen one.I grew up in northeast OH. Most would've said 5 til 9 or 5 to 9.
Within 1-2 generations, the terms clockwise and counterclockwise will be obsolete.

Replaced with lefty loosey, righty tighty.![]()
Bentley? My new car has an analog one instead of a digital one and I'm having a hard time to read it lol. It's mostly cause it's one of those with just marks instead of actual numbers.
