Turning PSU On

Just wanted to know how to turn on the PSU without having to plug in the 20/24 pin ATX power connector to the motherboard.

I had an older 220w that would, but a lot of newer ones won't, I don't think. You could always use a multimeter to see if it's getting power, I would guess.
 
take a thick wire, with a length of maybe 1/2 to 3/4 in, like what is used to wire up your homes power outlets, then just bend it and jumper the two pins. course dont do any of this while the thing is plugged in
