According to my mobo bios beep codes, I have some kinda RAM error. I always thought it was my CPU causing the error. If I leave the CPU in with no mem installed, is it ok to turn the system on?

Nothing will happen except repeated beeps. Try it. That's what I've been doing for two weeks because SuckVC f*cked up. But I turned it on just to see if the lights and everything else was working.

Well I took the RAM out completely and put the CPU in...BEEPS...I'm positive that the problem is either the CPU or the CPU Socket.

Also, the green light at the front of the case FLICKERS only when the CPU is in. I wonder what the deal with that is.

How far is the socket supposed to move when the level is pulled down? Mine doesn't move that much.

yep just what everyone has stated it will beep an know video.

make sure the socket is secure an in position theb lever should go don without a hitch, and remember never force a socket in position.

thereb is a link to the guide on building comps checks that for full details on cpu install

Yep, no RAM = continuous beeps

I haven't heard of it ever doing any damage to your board either. If you're just trying to figure out what's wrong, I would suggest disconnecting everything from the mobo (including the case pinouts), and use a jumper to jump the "on-switch" pins to turn it on. If it's down to the CPU or mobo, you really won't know for sure until you can swap out for known working parts. Good luck.
