I have an old PSU (250W) lying around that i wanna use with some fans. Since my current one cant ahndle anymore fans in my system. I was wondering if you guys had any idea how to power it up. Powersupply's usually turn on when you press the power switch on the case which i guess either shorts two wires or sends some sort of signal to the PSU.

Any help would be appreciated.

verify this first... but if i remember right you just need to ground the green wire (the green wire is one of the ones that plugs into the atx connector on the motherboard)

Connect the (normally) green wire (hold ATX connector with wires away from you, clip on the top, it's the 4th along from the left on the top row) to any black wire :)

You may need some load (cd rom drive etc) on the PSU for it to fire up :)

That looks shockingly like a PM I sent to another member ... :Q I'm not 100% sure if that's correct either.

Edit - If you're "Looking Down the Barrel" of the plug, that's correct. Text
