Turned down an FBI job today

I think I would have taken the job, just to kick someone in the face and say, "FBI B*TCH!"

But that's just me, of course.

I wouldn't worry about it -- you will most likely have another opportunity to join the FBI further down in your career. It's good that you stuck to your guns, and didn't compromise with a pay-cut. You'll be better in the long run, and it's not like they won't ask again (especially if your skills will be in-demand).

I got a good chuckle at all of the comments on the FBI and other government agencies. Like you guys really deal with these agencies firsthand or have even seen their firsthand work. Even if you have, it could have been a bad apple, or it could be representive of the entire agency. Hahaha, yeah right. Stop talking out of your asses or from what little you've seen on CNN.

They're notorious for coming in, doing little to nothing, and taking all the glory while local LE does all the work. It's also been said that they withhold information from local Police during "cooperative" investigations. They're really the only Federal agency that's widely disliked by LE.

It's pretty typical for those kind of application processes to take a year or more.

Even Special Agents don't find themselves in those situations, let alone a non-SA position.

I put in for SA position on the Computer Science track and non-SA IT type position possibly like what Rogue applied for but a lot more recent posting. It has been about a month and no word so either I am a highly undesirable candidate, bad timing, or I have to wait longer.
