Turn10 announces Forza Motorsport 4

I really doubt it's gonna be a big seller, it couldn't catch up to GT4(10m) and GT3(15m) all this time and i think GT5 has already moved 2.9 million units in less than 2 weeks compared to forza 3's 3.9m all time.

Can't speak for quality considering i only played it once.

It'll be nice for the folks with 360s to have a newer racing game though.

sweet trailer, now can we see some in game footage please? although if it is only releasing next year it could still be quite early.

also i could have sworn reading that the kinect thing was coming out next spring...maybe as dlc for forza 3?

But at least it should be a FULL game not like other certain racing games.

Forza 3 was the first I played in the Forza series and I loved it. I can't wait for the next one, I'll be picking this one up on release day.

I'm looking forward to it, but that wasn't a very good trailer. I like being able to look around the cars and open the hood and stuff. If that's going to be part of the game.

There's nothing old about FM3. It's light years ahead of GT5 in many respects.

No kidding. At least with FM, I'm getting a game that will advance the genre in a reasonable amount of time. I know I'll get a game that's consistent and fun.

But we've been there before...the whole GT5 vs Forza argument, no need to drum it up again.

2nd favorite of the night from the VGA's... my favorite was mass effect 3. I'll preorder the limited edition again... love Forza!

Having played every installment of both franchises to near completion and owning both consoles I would totally agree that FM4 could be the new king of the hill for true racers. Neither game is a full on sim, and I'm not sure the console market is truly looking for the same I-Racing type experience some PC gamers are, but the physics, gameplay, damage, and vehicle upgrade system, not to mention the community, livery, and auction house IMHO make the Forza franchise at this stage a level above GT5.

There are some things in GT5 that some see as better like graphics, which in my opinion pretty much evens out when you consider the lower poly count standard cars vs the tricked out high poly premiums & ugly flickering car shadows etc, larger car counts, though I don't really need 15 obscure versions of a Mazda Miata, and the larger car count during multiplayer.

I'll still play GT5 until FM4 comes out but at that point GT5 will be relagated to its storage case.

I wasn't being that mean! I'll even criticize my own choice by saying that Forza needs to go back to being a road racing game, and drop drag and drift. i really don't want to see that vein expand into go-carts, NASCAR, or F1.

The biggest news from the trailer (the last screen) is that they picked up the Top Gear license, so we should be getting the TG Test Track 😛

Everytime you drum up the argument you say "no need to drum it up again".

That was the big news for me as well. Love Forza 3...can't wait to run the top gear track.

- The Kinect demo was a tech demo. They are not sure whether Kinect will be implemented within the final game.

- Gran Turismo's sales have been decreasing rapidly. GT3 was the all-time high. GT4 sales were far less than that, even considering the install base of the PS2 was like 3-4 times larger than at the time of GT3's launch. GT5's sales have already started flatlining... The game can still reach 10 million units due to its strong start... However, it is likely to be the first game, since GT2, not to surpass 10 million units sold

I was more responding to RavenSEAL who felt like he needed to put GT's sales figures in the very first reply.

He feels that he needs to interject his PS3 (and GT5) fanboyism in everything involving Forza, even when he says he doesn't have a clue because he played Forza once.

But it's true, the argument needs to stop. It goes nowhere.

But... FM3 is the better game.

If anything, we'll probably get the Top Gear USA test track...

The fact that the only reason he posted in this thread was to say "PS3/GT5 is better" is kind of ridiculous...

We get it, you like the PS3...

A Microsoft spokesman has confirmed that Kinect will be part of Forza 4 but it won't be part of the core experience. So far they will only confirm the ability to use Kinect to look in and around the cars.
