Check it out here....

Not sure how real this all is, but im reading up on it as im typing this.... Anyone heard this b4?

Sort summary:

The conclusion by that guy is that Audigy is just the old core with new manufacture method (thus different chip size, etc.) with 24-bit playback DAC and 1394 interface. He also hypothesized that Creative have their stock dropping a lot earlier last year and a lot of people are criticizing that their R&D is too slow, so they just make Audigy which is(?) based on the same old core while advertising it as "with a lot of whole new technology and functionality".

<< Note the above servers are running slow or are dead if you find the file let us know and we will see if we can host the file. >>

No files to try it with I guess.

Hmmm, im gonna go see if i can find the files anywhere else...

The last link to the files *sorta* works. It brings you to nvidia's download page, if you click on the link to the files it won't work. However, if you mouse over it and copy the ftp information and follow that in your ftp proggy you can get to them. I'm downloading them now, its going really slow and its a 55 meg file... yay.

Don't bother trying it. Creative uses a driver development plan similar to Nvidia's unified drivers and so drivers for the Audigy will probably work for the original Live!.
