I have a 19" LCD monitor, just the screen. I was thinking of turning it into a touchscreen and hooking it up to an HTPC. Any cheap way of doing this?

No, I want to actually make something from this monitor and put it to use.

I set up one of these once.

Results were mediocre... and quite expensive.

Looks like there may be some newer and cheaper pen based options with a sensor that picks up the special pen position?

It's $300 for the setup on a 19" LCD. Also, I'd rather have it be finger input than pen.
