hehe being Armenian I won't exactly stand up for Turkey. However they should be able to release it in any language they choose.

I doubt internet penetration rates are very high in Turkey.. So even if the internet users in Turkey boycott Firefox ( which I doubt all of them will ), Mozilla is not affected.. Besides, I am on the side of the Kurds in the Kurds Vs Turkey issue.. Turkey is just trying to suppress them.

LOL. Pretty stupid - its like the ROC complaning about simplified chinese versionf of Firefox.
Personally Turks are simply too anal about the Kurdish issue - moreso than Arabs in Iraq seem to be. Its a language, whatever. Although I will say that in the Kudrs vs Turkey issue I'm more netural - Turkey needs to STOP repressing the Kurds to ridiculous measures, but the Kurds in that country need to realize that they are a part of TURKEY. They can still have their own language and customs, but they should see themselves as Turkish Nationals. Once they stop supporting separtist movements, things - although not perfect- would not be as heated and intense.

Ah well - the kurdish version will most likely exist whether it uses arabic script, or goes the way of Turkish and uses a romanized script

edit:

lolorskates- these responses are hilarious

everything is political these days ;)

I guess they don't think the Kurdish language is real. :p

Why do they even care what language Firefox is in? It's not like they have to use it. Shows you how pervasive racism and hate goes in that region.

No they aren't.

Kurds want part of Turkey/Iraq/Iran to form a new Kurd-State.

That is complete B.S.
They go out and blow themselves up inside those countries too to prove their cause.

Turkey is being very nice. If they did what Israel did to the Palestinians the Kurds would be bitch slapped. Lucky for the Kurds that the U.S is inside Iraq and has begged Turkey not to do anything. For now Kurds can run their little terrorist operations inside Iraq under the cover of the U.S.

Is Israel BS too?

Yes Palestinians want all of Israel to be part of Palestine so they can rename Israel to Palestine.

I think NOT.

I am half Armenian... eenchbes es? :) I personally am getting tired of Turkey's bullsh1t. They will NEVER be admitted into the EU, the French President said so, and I am glad. They really need to clean up their act. That means: stop prosecuting writers with a different view (Orhan Pamuk), admit to the Armenian, Greek, and Kurdish Genocides, and improve foreign relations.

How is that such a bad idea to form another state? I mean it was Western colonialism that changed that region from an assortment of ethnic states to multi-ethnic states with internal distress -- just like we did in Africa.

same reason Japan does not want to admit their role in WW2.

It is bad for those nations.
They have nothing to gain from it.

Plus it is going to turn into a fight between the Kurds. They'll have their own little civil war. Persian Kurds vs Turkish Kurds vs Iraqi Kurds all fighting each other to see who gets the power in their new state.
