Turbotax Premier + State Amazon deal

Looks like it has god awful reviews this year, but that is mainly due to the fact they changed the lineup and are forcing many users to have to purchase Premier over Deluxe (Schedule D). I've always had to use Premier, and $50.00 is about the best price I've ever paid for a federal file + state that has auto calculations for investments.

It's about $80 right now for Premier + State if you go to Intuit's website.

I think I read that you have to buy one up from what you used to use. So I used deluxe last year, which means I need to use Premier this year.

I didn't think it was going to be this expensive.

I ended up having to bump up to Home and Bus this year, and the Amazon deal on that one is $65 (Prime only). I know there's a huge uproar over the "rebranding" (or whatever people are calling it) this year of the different versions, but I still think it's a good deal for good software. I asked myself the following questions to make my decision:

Would I prefer that they just came right out and raised the price while keeping the names and features the same? Yes.
Do I feel like they're trying to mislead people with what they're doing? Yes.
Do I care enough to switch software this year? No.
Was it hard to figure out what version I need? No.
Is it still a good value considering what an accountant costs? Yes.

That was all I needed to pull the trigger.

I'm sorry but the people making decisions at Intuit have lost complete touch with their user base. They've had these types of missteps in the past, they learn from them for a few years and then pull some lame shit again. Then they apologize and offer a refund or cash back. Whoever is making these decisions needs to be fired or stick to them and say FU to the customer.
