Tuniq Tower 120 $46 shipped

is that massive heatsink still one of the best for overclocking? seems like a good price, i know when i was looking at that one before it was $50+

Nice price, good deal
If you don't want to spring for the U120e and extra fan, this is the one to get for Q6600 OCing😎

iI should've went with this but opt'ed for the U120e. It was only a few bucks more at the time. Most reviews put these 2 on the same level. I ran my low-power AMD chip fanless and the heatsink was just warm. I'm assuming the Tuniq should have the same performance.

That is HUGE!!!! I wonder how the gravity well around this thing will affect the time-space continuum of my PC

I am using both the Tower and the U120E on overclocked C2D chips.

The Tuniq is massive and its vents are close enough that dust builds up and restricts flow through it. I like the design of the U120E much more.

The U120E has farther apart vents, routes the hot air right to the chassis exhaust fan - not to other components like the Tower, and lets you use a choice of quieter fans. And it seems to do a better job of cooling. A maxed out E6850 never even gets to 60°, but I'm using them on different chips so I can't swear to it being a better cooler. However the reviews do indicate that too.

Anyone tried the Zerotherm Nirvana? Can be had for 37.99AR here on the Egg.

Some reviews I read placed it on par or better than the Tuniq 120.

Yes. I have running with a e4500 oc'd to 3.3 and I have the fan on the lowest setting. My temps now are 22c/21c at idle. It never exceeds 52c, no matter what, on the lowest fan setting. On the highest fan settign it never exceeds 48c. On the lowest setting, you cannot hear the fan at all from inside the case. My computer is near dead silent. But, get better grease, the stuff they ship with it for free is barely worth the price.

I own two of these...

The first one was on backorder for over 8 months! They were $69/$75 respectively, at the time.

CPU temps are often less than the mobo temps, so yes, they work! Really!!!

I'm running a P4 Extreme Edition OC'ed to 3825MHz on this machine, and I've never exceeded 52c either, even when running orthos.

True! If you really wanna see what Tower 120s are worth CHECK THIS OUT (Q6600 G0 - 4.220Ghz Air Cooled with the Tuniq).

Pedro didn't even blow the dirt out of it... 😀

What kind of grease? And from where?

Bah! Don't worry about it! 😉

Tower 120s come with TX-1, which is the same as MX-1, which is actually Shin Etsu G-751.

It's stable, safe for your electronics, and will last for 8 years.

This stuff is thermal PASTE (not grease) and a PITA to apply, but it runs circles around most other compounds!

If you just gotta buy something, get MX-2. If you'll pardon the pun, it's the hottest product out there, right now!

It's designed for ppl that are too dumb to spread MX-1 properly... 😀

That Nirvana looks very interesting, and at 37.00AR shipped, a very good deal. Has some good reviews on the web.

so is there anything that needs to be done with this cooler out of the box? and anyone know if it'll fit on the Gigabyte ds3 in a LL V1000 case?

I got in on one of these finally. The 3 day shipping only cost an extra 3 dollars so I was very happy with that as well. Ive never seen 3 day so cheap on anything, will look at other items from this place if shipping is that cheap on other items! Woot!
