i would highly discourage those interested to stay away from this, but instead check out tunecast II, trancast, or itrip. the tunecast (original) only contains 4 frequencies while the 3 i just mentioned covers the entire FM range for you to use. there's been many many bad reviews on the original tunecast + the fact is that you can easily pick up a tunecast original (NEW) for $8 shipped.

I assume only 4 freqs are bad since you have a chance of a broadcast already using those 4? Assuming I have one of those freqs open, what are the other problems the Tunecast has? And where is it $8?

What is the cheapest you've seen the other 3 transmitters you mentioned?

I got one, and it sucks. If you have an antenna outside your car and not built into the glass you run the chance of this thing not working well at all.

Even if you only hear static on that frequency, you cant gaurantee that there's no interference which will distort your sound quality. i've found with my iTrip that even though there are dozens of frequencies which are static, only about 3 or 4 of them give me an acceptable level of quality. As for where to get it for $8, tons of ebay sellers are selling if for $8 shipped. just search for tunecast.

check out your local radio stations before buying this.

I bought one last year, and the 4 stations it's set for are all in use in my region. the only place I get any use out of it is with my bathroom radio, which doesn't pick up anything except the major broadcast stations.
