The Establishment is not happy...on either side of the aisle. People are pissed.

That is because despicable people have learned how to attract a lot of followers which gives them power. Unfortunately they have the decision making ability of a gnat which makes them dangerous.

Bingo! People get over your self righteous selves. It's frigging politics.

So it's OK when your side does it.

Remind me again, why are Democrats better than Republicans? I get told all the time around here that there is a difference, but fr the life of me I can't remember what it is...

Never said it was OK. It always amazes me that people who go to a political forum website, are shocked at basically the way politics have been since the beginning of time and will continue to be this way. No, you are not ever going to clean up the interactions of human behavior of this kind.

Hillary has far more than the decision making ability of a gnat. In fact she is a very intelligent, skilled, and experienced politician. Unfortunately she is also as corrupt, self-serving, and apathetic as Washington can get.

It really has nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism. The people are the same regardless of what side of the aisle they currently inhibit. Why do you think Trump is so popular despite being more liberal than Hillary?

Actually there is a lot you can do to mitigate it, it just takes the right political structure and dynamics, with good transparancy, accountability, involvement of all citizens, and checks and balances.

Tulsi Gabbard splits from the big money of the DNC.
I like her already.

Disagreeable on policy but not on integrity. Maybe she'll be the one to pickup Sander's torch. Perhaps she was inspired by his voting base and realized that's something a younger, more energetic politician could tap into and lead to victory in future elections.

Because Americans are, for the most part, gullible morons.

She comes from a younger generation with a newer way of thinking.

I like that. I like that a lot, because with change, there is the possibility that the changes will be for the better.

If you really want to know, I used to like DWS quite a lot. Since she decided that Hillary could be the only choice for the DNC, she's on my shit list.

You used to like her a lot? It took trying to fix the race for Hillary to sway you?

I can't say I know her record in detail, but from what I've read on left leaning sites such as Dailykos, she basically sounds like a corporate shill. Doesn't seem like someone a Democrat would support.

is there anything that DWS has done that wouldn't have just as easily benefited any other establishment candidate?

if, say, Hillary didn't run but Biden did, all the things that people pillory DWS over feel like they would have benefited him just as much.

I was being kind. Gnats are harmless. They also don't hallucinate snipers, nor take bribes. Gnats for president. Or worms. We could literally start a grass roots campaign to put worms on the ballot.

She's also a veteran. I only started noticing her ~4 or 5 months ago, occasionally when the channel stops on CNN and they have her on commenting.

She's very "ungroomed" as far as they typical politician goes, doesn't seem razor sharp on certain issues, but foreign policy and international relations seem to be her wheelhouse (she doesn't like her friends being killed around her, all the while the country continues to happily make new and greater enemies...thus more friends being killed).

She's got excellent tools that need a little honing and it would be great to see her mature into a formidable leader and even candidate outside of the Clinton Co. mold.

Anyway, I think if the DNC is smart, they will look to someone like her as more of a future face of the party and work with her to increase her economic and general policy knowledge rather than the same status quo bullshit "candidates" they have been forcing down our throats the last 20 years.

lol, who am I kidding? 😀

In what little I've seen from her, Gabbard does seem like the kind of candidate who would be above the now standard political fray. Sadly, that will probably keep her from getting any further than where she is right now. To get to the very top, you apparently need to be insane and/or evil. Or have a lot of followers that are insane and/or evil.

That does seem to be the most efficient route, but I'd like to offer a counterpoint, and which is also our most recent example.

Whether or not a lot of those guys in the repub/"repub light" 😉 category realize this, but Obama was very much an outsider within the typical democrat enclaves even up until his 2008 run for POTUS

--he was hated by the notorious democratic machine in Chicago when running locally, and later for senate (I always snicker when people here and elsewhere call him a "Chicago Democrat!" because such people are fucking stupid. They have no idea how the Daly's and Jacksons hated the shit out of him. He constantly ignored them throughout his political career and always refused their various favors. It wasn't so much that he rejected them outright, he just wanted to do these his way; but of course they hated him because when you are as corrupt as those assclowns, anyone that rejects your favor is seen as a rat. Daly wouldn't even endorse him for POTUS until after Hillary dropped out)
--The Clintons, well...don't really like him. In fact they hated him through the 2008 campaign, but only recently aligned behind him, because:
--it is pretty well established that he has no history of being cozy with billionaires and Industry leaders. He hates CEOs. He hates billionaires. Not personally, he just hates the notion that one has to be friendly with them (you're right! it's the sad nature of the beast). Bill helped him early on by introducing him to his buddies and educating him on how to talk to them and get their attention. It seems that has had mixed results.
Here's an article
--Obama does spend an awful lot of time in Silicon Valley drawing up support from the same chucklehead dillholes, and that does annoy me, but I'd rather those than the Halliburton and Big oil shitheads that prefer our national interests be aligned with endlessly killing brown people for profits.

"To try to act as if there is a difference between 'civil unions' and same-sex marriage is dishonest, cowardly and extremely disrespectful to the people of Hawaii who have already made overwhelmingly clear our position on this issue... As Democrats we should be representing the views of the people, not a small number of homosexual extremists."

her campaign manager also worked for "Stop Promoting Homosexuality Hawaii" and "The Alliance for Traditional Marriage"

yeah, her national profile as a Democrat may be limited...

Well, there goes that temporary thought bubble. :\

😀

Hillary was crowned many months ago, long before the people went through the motions of pretending they mattered at the democratic nomination. This woman obviously didn't get the memo, she's not supposed to question her queen, and disloyal subjects will be treated accordingly.
