If Virginia still has it's top elected officials, Tucker Carlson shouldn't even be on the radar.

I see you got some blowback for this. What I focused on was your first word, “Honestly”. I took your post as if it were directed to me, that my expression of contempt for Carlson was extreme, excessively extreme, something I felt myself. I appreciate your moderating expression of honesty, myself, and am tempted to plea similarly. I hope I’m not quite the monster I sound to be.

You probably know as well or better than I do that any offer of honesty that is in fact honest is going to cause trouble.

Probably accurate. I didn't pay attention to that until you pointed it out. Although I don't support Tucker in any way and think there is a big gap between lay people who casually hold similar beliefs and someone acting as a mouth-piece, I find the beliefs expressed, or at least the susceptibility to developing them, understandably human. I think it's a mistake to write off anyone with the ideas he expresses ringing as compelling. More likely we're all compelled by them but some of us are able to use strategies to keep those ideas out of awareness.

I find it a little strange to get flak for it. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in condemning Tucker's actions. Acting upon this ideas and promoting them is certainly way different from forming them.

More hits from Tucker the Love Sponge:

"Newly released recordings of Tucker Carlson — the third set made public in as many days — feature the prominent Fox News host joking about having sex with a teenage beauty pageant contestant. In the tapes, Carlson also makes a series of sexist, misogynist and cruel remarks about the young woman, who was a contestant in a 2007 Miss Teen USA competition..."

And Trump likes FOX and all of the folks who work there because they're the only ones along with their millions of viewers who see him the way he really is and just don't give a shit or frighteningly so, actually believe what guys like Tucker and Hannity are force feeding them.

This alternative universe that FOX and their ilk have built around Trump has required them to totally ignore the overwhelming and mounting evidence that Trump and those numerous indicted/convicted/cooperating formerly closely held ex-friends of his have so thoroughly corrupted our gov't to a point where the very security of the nation is at stake in favor of broadcasting blatant and patently false praises and accolades about Trump while they simultaneously broadcast blatant and patently false accusations and innuendo about those folks who found themselves on Trump's "enemies list" of whom have been multiplying every time Trump screws things up in one fashion or another.

That so many of these enemies of his have actually worked for/with him is quite telling all on its own merit.

Probably the issue that occupies the likely limited mental energies I do possess is the problem of how to defeat the catch 22 I see regarding the acquisition of wisdom. What do I mean:

I believe that wisdom is acquired via the process of self awareness, the understanding of motivation, uncovering or bringing into conscious awareness that which has been consciously repressed. This is the same thing as knowing what you feel, not thinking you know, but actually feeling it. The catch is that this is the last thing we will ever do because what we feel is self hate, that we acquired that feeling as children by being compared to others, to all the other good children we should be like, not the hateful little monsters we resemble.

So we become psychically split. We adopt a vision of our self that identifies with all the good things we were held up to as ideals, and repress the feelings we don't measure up.

This means that to grow and to learn, to become wise, we have to suffer, we have to face the shadow self within, the monsters we feel ourselves to be. But because our real inner truth, what we really believe beyond our fantastical notions of ourselves in the ideal, is self contempt, to feel what we feel means that at core we feel contemptible. The real fact is that we are not contemptible at all but have only been made to feel that way, but to touch that feeling is to experience it as being real.

Thus we believe we are worthless and we don't know we believe it and can't thus gain the wisdom that it is a lie we were taught.

And on top of all of that, when you feel you are contemptible, you act like it. We don't see we live with bitterness and hate, that we need others to feel bad because we do, and that this leaks out constantly unconsciously. We blame anyone and anything rather than ourselves.

Somebody like Tucker Carlson, a pitiful human being, a god who feels like a devil, and can never look within, an asshole who gives vent to all that repressed hate, what do you do with him. He is a contagion, but he is also a lost soul, just like the rest of us self haters.

I find him contemptible but I know that's because I feel I am. But he is still a contagion and the evil he represents needs to end and can only end with the acquisition of wisdom.

While the souls of those who know what it is to suffer seek the light, others plan for nuclear war. Perhaps even nobodies are called to speak.

Has anyone else ever seen "Tucker Carlson" and read it as starting with an "F"?

I'm hoping, incidentally, within a few years, to become a grown up.

Personally, I would advise against it. I was born grown up but then I learned better. Grown up's don't understand too many things. They see a butterfly and don't "get it".

Carlson won't respond directly about any of his comments on those tapes. However, he did attack Media Matters for posting the tape, calling it “a George Soros-funded lobbying organization whose sole mission is to punish critics of the Democratic Party.”

Soros? Of course!

Never mind the fact that these are, uh, audio tapes of him talking. It's all about who found the tapes and posted them, not what he said.

That's kind of amazing. The real problem here isn't what I said, it's that someone else notified people of what I said!

Saw a headline somewhere that said his advertisers are down 31-32% or something.

Tucker has the moral equivalent of an underactive thyroid. Take him from FOX and put him on MSNBC and he's instantly a flaming liberal socialist. All it requires is money. It's a job and he will fit whatever role given. He is a mask with nothing behind it. That last, the "nothingness" is a great problem.

Well he worked at CNN for 5 years and then MSNBC for 3 and yes he was more of a moderate. MSNBC doesn't have anyone currently that resembles the dynamic fox dou of Wanity and Fucker.

Tucker Vacation?

Anyway he said some nasty shit about Brian Stelter the other night so bad that it was omitted from the transcript online.

But you can still watch the whining here @ 1:11
