I cut the cord about a year ago and went with Youtube TV. Quite satisfied, I am, all things considered. The interface is more than a bit over-complicated and clumsy, but, eh, tradeoffs to save dough. The first line of offerings are things THEY think I want to see. Because I have -- only occasionally and briefly -- checked in on Carlson's show, they keep putting him there. So, last night, bored, I checked in. As usual, about 3 minutes was all I could stand.

But, oh boy, the lies he crammed in to those 3 minutes, going on and on about how the National Guard troops in DC are being vetted for their loyalty, NOT, as he put it, to the country or the constitution, but to the Democratic party.

Shepherd Smith was the last bastion of sanity in that cesspool until they finally ran him off. His last few weeks there it was obvious, and you could tell at the end that he was close to loosing it before he finally left.

Tuckers only goal is to own the libs because he was abandoned by his "Bohemian" mother. His father remaried someone that was wealthy. In the end, he was given a privileged rich white man lifestyle. His only goal is to keep this power structure so that rich white men have no consequences or responsibilities. It's why he loves Trump. Another privileged white male that would have failed if it wasn't for the giant silver spoon in his ass. Tucker believes that is how life should be.


He needs a therapist, not a pulpit.

I find it difficult to sum up my feelings about conservatives generally and this guy as an outstanding exemplar. Perhaps that is why you used the words amoral and professionally delivered. In my case I experience a longing to be able to string them up by the wrists and beat horse whip them to confessing their lies to a near certainty they actually believe in their lies. The ambiguity I find to be almost paralyzing.

Is it professionalism or is it misguided sincerity. Is it moral failure or amorality. And what does it say about me if I judge, if I am as certain about them as they are about liberals like me? It's not a road I really want to go down. Judge not that you not be judged.

All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. How do I escape this trap?

One thing is very clear to me. These people are living in a moral condition, lacking moral values or believing fanatically in values that are very very wrong and in either case what they will do in the world is push it in a wrong direction. It is then, in my opinion, that it is the direction that must be opposed. So whether one is animated by contempt and outrage at the immorality or amorality of the words of such people, or the conscious awareness of their wrong direction, they course they direct us in must be opposed.

Ultimately then, I have no need internally for my anger and rage. I must do what I can to speak out against such people and to act as responsibly and within the means that I have to oppose them.

My sweet little black and white Charlie-Cat has just snuggled up on my arm. head resting in the crook of my elbow, as I type with the other hand. But if I were a rat her actions would be quite different. Such is the nature of a cat. I am an animal too and have some sort of animal nature, well hidden, we can hope, behind my cultural training, but if triggered might come also as a big surprise to rats. Do we really know our true human nature.

When I look at my sweet kitty's face and feel the heat from her chin on my arm, she starts bouncing around at my involuntary belly laugh. I cant help myself. Tucker Carlson is far far away. He will never be able to offer me what Charlie-Cat gives my when she hides her eyes from me under her paw.
