Tualatin Pricing?

Is intel going to price the tualatin and compatible motherboards competitively? From the review at toms' hardware, it looks like the thunderbird beats the tualatin slightly. If the tualatin costs more than a comparable thunderbird system, i dont see how it will be successful. Does anybody know how it will be priced, or any other pertinent info?

Hey, I still don't see how Intel is getting almost $100 more for a P3 1GHz than a Tbird 1GHz.

Yikes, that's even more expensive that I thought. Over $600 for the mobile version. That will make the Athlon notebooks look that much sweeter.

I'd still prefer the Intel laptop (even though I have an AMD desktop, and recommend it over Intel for all my friends - for now, at least). The power dissipation for Tualitin should be a MAJOR advantage. Even if, miracuously, the batterylife for an Athlon 4 based system were the same as an equivalent Tualitin, the Tualitin will have much lower heat dissipation. I don't want my legs cooked, damnit!

Mobile cpu's are always significantly more expensive than their desktop counterparts. Even for AMD's.

And I certainly wouldn't put a lot of stock into that article. Hypothetically speaking, even if the info at the time was what was planned for the price points, that can easily change in a short period of time. Especially with today's market conditions. Even when that article was written, the P3-1ghz could be had for less than what was stated.
