How the goals were scored in Sunday's gold medal game between Team Canada and the United States:

First Period

U.S. 1, Canada 0: Tony Amonte jumps off the bench and finds himself on a two-on-one break after Canadian defenceman Al MacInnis gets caught in the U.S. zone. Amonte decides to keep it and beats Martin Brodeur five-hole with a wrist shot.

Canada 1, U.S. 1: Mario Lemieux with the amazing decoy, pretending to play Chris Pronger's pass in the high slot but instead letting it slide between his legs to Paul Kariya, who one-times the puck past a diving Mike Richter.

Canada 2, U.S. 1: Jarome Iginla does what he does best, crashes the net, fights off American defenceman Gary Suter and punches home a seeing-eye, cross-crease pass from Joe Sakic.

-

Second Period

U.S. 2, Canada 2: Brian Rafalski's wrist shot from the right faceoff circle during an American power play deflects off the stick of Pronger and beats Brodeur along the ice and between the legs.

Canada 3, U.S. 2: Sakic's wrist shot from the top of the left faceoff circle deflects off American defenceman Aaron Miller and bounces through Richter.

-

Third Period

Canada 4, U.S. 2: Steve Yzerman's soft pass across the top of the offensive zone finds a streaking Iginla, whose one-timer is partially stopped by Richter's glove but still bounces in.

Canada 5, U.S. 2: Sakic flies into the offensive zone, cutting in with flair from right-wing boards and knifing wrist shot past Richter

uhh ok,

Not sure what's so special about Lemieux on Can's second goal. I don't think he could get a stick on it so he let it slide through, nice shot by Kariya though.
