The genius of this plan is that because of special lanes for this, it takes away space from standard passengers, and their lines get longer. The longer their lines the more people sign up for this.

you are posting a shit opinion that you know nothing about.

The TSA agent probably did not know what a book was used for.........think about..........TSA agents are a few levels lower than a Burger King employee!

Breezed through the line yesterday while the peasants were busy taking their shoes off and laptops out of their bags.

Of course, that just allowed me to get to the gate faster, board a plane that was subsequently deboarded for undisclosed 'maintenance' issues, wait 2 hours for a new plane, and then wait another 1.5 hours until pilot tells us the radio isn't working.

Flying is awesome.

Ever since the tsa staffing crunch last summer and subsequent Chicago mayor rant and anger, the lines at the checkpoints in Chicago have been very quick. I bought pre-check last year but it is really more about not having to unpack half my luggage and take my shoes off and separate liquids and laptop than it is about getting through the checkpoint faster.

I don't fly much but around 2009-2010 I flew 16 times a year for work, for almost 2 years. I never had an issue on any flight. I flew out of Newark Airport, NJ every time flying with what was at the time Continental Airlines. It seems I just got lucky. Check-in was a breeze, and so was security. Only hiccup I had was missing a flight back to NJ cause I fucked my assistant the whole night before. That cost my company a grand total of 50 bucks.

If you want to go even faster use CLEAR. You skip the line and go right to the security checkpoint.
BTW the pre-check lane at Atlanta has a new automated conveyor system for getting your stuff through. not sure if I like it or not but I thin kit will speed things up.

Those who are knocking precheck and global entry have never used it. it's the ONLY way to go if you are a frequent traveler. Love or hate the concept, the reality of flying today involves the TSA, and this is the best way to deal with it.

Because you are required to go through the pre-check line, sometimes you get screwed.

I flew from Santa Ana airport recently. When I got to security I saw there was a really long line and thought I was in for it. Then I got to the entrance to the queue and saw the line of 80 people was all for pre-check. The normal line had literally no one, so I was able to walk straight to the agent and get into security immediately past all the pre-check fools.

I fly ~5 times a year and the waits are never bad. When I fly international is usually for work so I get business class, which basically gives the same perks expediting security and customs. I tend to fly to regional airports where security is a breeze, and the Seattle airport security is pretty fast (they have TSA people whose only job is to yell at people not moving fast enough hahaha).

My credit card pays for global entry, but I really don't like the idea of the government having my fingerprints if they don't need them...

Yeah, they have separate line for first class/business at the TSA security checkpoint. That seems wrong but this was always only about the money and not security. My credit card pays for Global Entry but since I fly for lesiure and not business, I would need pay for my family members. I rather not pay the bribe and reward incompetence of the TSA.

True, but you still have to take out your baggy full of liquids, take off your shoes and belt, and be irradiated. Precheck allows you the dignity of a civilized metal detector with your shoes and belt.

Really?? I've been fucking before flying since I was like 16 without an issue. Hell a lot of times I even wake up early to get another piece of tail before I leave.

Yeah but you miss out on being able to fuck with incompetent TSA agents while they perform their enhanced patdown.
