TSA is a joke.... @LAX even worse!

First time dealing with TSA at LAX.. at least 100 blue shirts here and its the slowest ive ever been processed! And they talk down to you... they were individually instructing people to take a step up after the person in front if them moved. ..really? TsA is a joke. Nothing more than security theater and a jobs program.

If you couldnt cut it in the military, become a cop.
If you couldnt cut it as a cop, become a private security guard.
If you cant cut it as a security guard, work for McDonalds.
If you cant cut it at McDonalds, work for the TSA.

Did they have tanks?

tbh, i would rather be a TSA agent then the other options because it is a comfortable job with a nice blue shirt. in a freaking airport too!

military = scared i might injure myself in training or combat
cop = constantly fearing about lawsuits. the abuse may catch up one day.
security guard = daddy issues
McDonalds = greasy, ghetto stank

OP is deathly afraid of police. I assume that extends out to the military but I'm not sure.

He feels superior to TSA folks because he doesn't see them as a threat.

OP has some serious issues.

TSA's a joke, and you're bad, flawed human if you work for them. If there were no employees, there would be no TSA. Do your patriotic duty, starve the machine, and save the country money and dignity.

To be fair there is something about a security line that makes a large segment of the population go completely brain dead and, as someone who has transited LAX many times, it seems to be much worse at LAX (and LAS for that matter). Thus they need to be hand held through the entire process or they will screw things up:

Countless people wearing belts despite the many signs and people telling you to put it in the bin

Trying to fit 2 people in the scanner

Not waiting for their items to go into the scanner

Not moving up when said items went into the scanner

Trying to go through the wrong scanner

Arguing that sandles are not shoes and therefore don't need to be taken off

I can't even begin to tell you how often the bag scanner line I have been in there has been held up because someone didn't remove a liquid from it.

And I had to reschedule my Global Entry interview again (Pre-Check access) because of travel changes. Grrrrr

But yes - it is completely security theater

Pre-Check is slightly less awesome now that they expanded the program and in some places forgot to expand the number of lanes.

Still it's great when my time from curb to seat in an airline club is under minutes.🙂

Last year, the Transportation Security Administration collected $531,395.22 in change left behind at checkpoints.

Yeah its not too bad at DTW yet but I have noticed the line getting longer. They want to keep expanding pre-check until its the norm not the exception so there will likely be fluctuations as they adjust to the volume

This is why I fly into and out of Ontario. Never have a problem there ...

That's a long drive to LA from Ontario though

LAX is just absolutely the worst airport, especially when you have to transfer to an international flight. seriously, why the F do I have to go through security again! the design is horrid!

Yea, complain about the agents at the airport where one guy just got shot to death. They're not overly cautious of assholes like you at all.

If you don't want to deal with the TSA there are usually alternate forms of transportation. The TSA isn't the problem per se, its the stupid rules and regulations that only provide an illusion of security. That and people are stupid.

TSA is just security theater. Perfect program for those that can't distinguish between feeling secure and being secure.
