TSA body scanners - invasion of privates

From the comments, it appears that this is an option you can choose if you're selected for additional screening, not part of the standard screening.

i saw this on tv the other day - i think some show about current security measures on NatGeo. When they came to this piece of technology, they withheld the resulting images. Now I can see why.

What's the big deal? The TSA employees are trained professionals. I don't think they would do anything that would risk the privacy of the passengers they are protecting.

the person who made this comment there obviously is very stupid or ignorant  as someone has mentioned, as for the body scans, whats to stop them from making copies for themselves? what about children?

i'm gonna wear metal lined undergarments and undies 😛

LOL no way would I submit to this. Let those TSA people actually do some work and look for whatever they think I'm hiding!

Considering you can always be strip searched and have a date with a rubber glove if you refuse to be scanned I would rather deal with the scan then that.

if you refuse the scan, you will get patted down like before.

So you would rather have a total stranger feel you up rather then a poorly black and white scan?

""If you go through the metal detector and you cause an alarm, you will be motioned through the WBI," said Mike Weatherford, TSA assistant federal security director for inspection at Tulsa International Airport. "The term we use for the WBI is that it's a continuous random screening protocol."

The WBI process, which passengers may decline in favor of physical pat-downs, is designed to augment the metal detectors and baggage screening at security checkpoints, TSA officials said. "

and yes, i'd rather be patted down than go through that.

i'm sure strip searching is an option available to the TSA, but certainly not the first if you refuse an invasive body imaging scan.

I rather enjoy the physical pat-down. It's about the same you'd get from a stripper, without having to pay for it! Just close your eyes and enjoy.

Seriously this whole TSA thing must be a scam. They keep coming up with new equipment/policies that slow everything down and waste more money. The money probably goes back into their pockets or friend's pockets.
