Trying to trobleshoot emachines T2682 Desktop

Hi all,

Friends desktop.

Problem started yesterday morning. It lost the keyboard. Then had problems shutting it down. Got it up and did the install reinstall stuff for keyboard. Nothing. Did a system restore. Nothing. Bought an adapter to use USB Keyboard. Nothing.

Finally it stopped booting up at all. Light goes on the front. When powered up now the CPU fans starts to spin and then stops.

All lights do go on.
So far.

1st. Replaced Power Supply- no go
2nd Tried different Hard Drive-no go
3rd. Replaced memory-no go

4th. Out of spec for my knowledge. Figure processor or motherboard has gone bad. ANY OTHER THOUGHTS!!

check the motherboard for bulging/leaking capacitors

I agree with Boonesmi, probably the MB. My first guess was PSU, but you covered that.
