Trying to think of the proper term...

It's a word I know and on the tip of my tongue but for the life of me I can't remember it.

Here is what it means. Something akin to level of detail or order of magnitude or locus.

For example if you are doing a plot line and your X axis is based on time, when you change the X Axis to represent months instead of years you've change the scale interval. There is a proper term for your current level of detail on that scale and I can't remember the word for it. I tried googling but I couldn't find it after spending some time looking. Dictionary and Thesaurus .com weren't any help either. Any help out there?

Close but the word is very specific for that term. It doesn't have any other meaning but that. That's the term I'm trying to remember. I thought it was a specific math term and I looked through a glossary of math terms but couldn't find it.

scope, resolution, magnitude, locus, detail, and a few others are close but not the right word. If I can't think of it I'll just use one of those words instead.

I think gradation was the word I was looking for.

Actually that's not it either. It is a word in regards to your Current precision, or current order of magnitude, or current gradation, or current granulaity, or current scope, or current range...

You get the picture. It's a word that means there are different levels of ranges and what is showing is your current range. Dangit. I guess I'll just use something else for now. I know in a few days I'll be thinking about something else and it'll come to me out of the blue.
