trying to setup Internet connection.

I am trying to setup an Internet connection. I forgot how to do it. I am working with Windows home edition. I would appreciate some help.

CABLE/MODEM/NIC/waddyawant?
No one here is psychic, cos the last chick to own up to being a medium was dunked in the village pond for being a witch.

Just supply all your network hw specs , it will save a lot of 'have you got .....?'
ROUTER?
NIC? Onboard?
MODEM? USB or Ethernet?
ISP

OK, so you have a modem sent by the ISP. It came with a cd and ainstructions on how to install it.
Have you installed it yet?
You will need your account info/password etc.

if I remember right, you have to go under device manager and add ethernet connection under network adapters or other devices. I am not sure thow to do it or what to do after it.

If you go into control panel, look under network adaptors.
Can you see your onboard NIC there - all healthy and no X or !.
If yes, then shove in the cd for your modem, and install - read the documentation first that came with it - some say the modem should be connected before the installation starts, some say it shouldn't be connected.
