So I made an Image of a Windows installation from the c: drive to an external USB hard drive (drive F). I am at my wits end trying to restore this image. Can I: restore this image using another USB Drive (call it H). Can I then boot from this restored image? Everything I've read says how easy it is to use Acronis software...I sure hope I'm missing something that is workable to get this image restored!^_^ Thanks so much!

Are you trying to restore in Windows or through an Acronis Bootable Rescue Media? From experience, I've found it works better restoring from the bootable rescue media. You don't mention what happens during your attempts to restore the image.

Thanks for the reply. Since my post I have tried several times to create a bootable recovery disk. Tried on both of my DVD drives with different media, and I still get the following message: "device is busy. (0x40010). Tag=0x8b7f8138ebd33ec1. Retry...same result. Seems pretty straight forward. My approach is to, on another PC, Take an Acronis image of another PC's C: drive on a USB external drive and restore it on another USB drive. I have another internal SATA drive that has been formatted so if I need to use that to restore the c: image to I can do that too. Everything I've read says this is the greatest program and how easy it is to use. I feel like a real dummy...I'm in no way slamming the program..I know its "operator error":|

If you have problems creating the Rescue Media, do this: Choose the Create ISO option. Then use your normal CD burnware to create the media from that ISO file. I always use the bootable Rescue Media so that the OS is not involved in the imaging process. Normally I simply use the clone function and create a bootable reserve drive - that needs no restoration.

It is possible that your TI installation has a prolem. Can you uninstall and reinstall it?
