I have a network that has a bad cable and I tried to fix with 2 network jacks I had as I been having problems making a normal rj 45 connection .

I found the amazon link of the adapters I bought and attached one on each end of broken figuring that would fix the cable and was going to the use 2 of my 1 foot patch cables to connect my 2 switches so I can use my old setup again.

Both of the boxes are on the B connection so I know thats right but when I tried to use my lan tester it keeps showing crossed wires on just the master side so I dont know whats happening.

let me post this for ques and feedback so try to fix this stupid cable

Are there any network experts here to help with figuring out my network problem or should I post this thread somewhere else Thanks?

Here is the Amazon link for the Cat6 network box I bought and also trying to see why the new rj 45 conectors dont work that allow the cable to go through rj 45 connector to make sure the wires are inserted correctly and that not testing with my basic lan tester or working when I hook up the cable either

Here is the connectors I thought would solve the problem I was having making a good rj 45 connections on both ends of my cable that once I finished the making the connections properly the lan tester says there not working right.
The lan tester has a master/slave setup where I used to see the bad side show a not connected wire or connector has wires in wrong order but this tester now shows all wires connected properly on master side and problems on the slave side and when I swap the lan tester around it now show the end or the wire that was showing bad is good and same problem is now on the slave side

here is the new connectors I got
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009JCVI6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also how can I fix the cable connection if I dont even know which end of my which end of my cable is bad?

Also everything listed as master slave on my lan tester is actually master and remote.

so here is my facebook post and check out the light patterns I did this test twice and the weird pattern happens on both side of the cable as well as the good pattern happens on both side so I have no clue why or which side is broken and I made plenty of connectors it the past with no problems....

as best I can remember when use the lan tester with both network connectors and the network boxes my tester was showing normal connections on one end and one with messed up light pattern and when I had problems using the boxes I removed them and tried normal connections and when that did not work tried those pass through rj 45 connectors and I assume it there was something wrong with the cable itself the lan tester would have picked that up.

Can you draw a diagram? If I'm understanding you correctly, are you trying to use 1 cable for 2 separate Ethernet connections? I'll also ask the obvious, why haven't you just replaced the cable?

Right now I still need to fix 1 of 2 broken cables that cable is about 30' feet long and is running between 2 Dlink gigabye switches my other cable which is working now is coming from the middle of my living room/kitchen with my newly moved router/modem so with the new setup my network starts at router/modem goes up to the ceiling and through my bedroom wall and drops down to the first switch and which feed those devices.

Then from that switch I go around room 75 feet and come to to my other switch which feed my devices near my HDTV. those cables I built myself about 10 years ago and have been working fine for the most part.

So cable 2 has been stapled to my baseboard that the one I tried to repair using the normal rj 45 connectors and due to pain I get every day from auto accident that give me pain to my neck, back and headaches I it limiting my ability's a lot these days heres what happened when I could get 2 new connectors to fix the cable which should be 5 min simple job but it has not been.

So I have the above listed network boxes that work using a punch tool so used first 1 then 2 boxes because now while the boxes cant connect to my switches I can use some made patch cable to do the job even though they may be not get the job done at least it be done.

I made my connections using the B wiring setup hooked up the 2 boxes and was easy to do once I had cutter placed properly. So now I hook up the lan tester and I and I know the lan tester show good as showing all the pins and some other pattern on the remote side and after seeing that with everything reconnected to my switches it was not working.

At some point I decided to get rid the faulty boxes and I bought these new pass through rj 45 connectors and just fix re-fix the cable that way.

So after doing the same straight thru B cable I am now showing with my lan tester that the master side of my cable will show a normal 1-8 lights and the remote side has a strange pattern but one thing I cant figure out is why does the tester show good cable.

I posted the facebook video to show that but I think people reading this thread still dont know whats happening and they will probably say fix the end that bad when the tester is reversed that always the side that lights properly and whatever end of the cable that connected to the remote side of the tester is got weird pattern.

The lan tester seems to be simple tool to say was wires are crossed or missing I never had it work like it doing now that way this thread is posted plus why wont the network boxes or my these pass through working either!

Unfortunately I can Not understand what the nature of you Network is, and what you are trying to do.

As a rule runs between locations have to be using solid core CAT6 each side punch into rj-45 jack like the one in your first link. From there you can use pre-Made CAT 6 patches connecting to switch or computer.

There is No point to crimp patches because there are very inexpensive that the industrial made are much better than Armature Crimping.

why are you making patch cables? Just buy patch cables.

Is your 30' run you put jacks on solid cable?

my problem now its 1 75 foot cat 5 cable that I have tried to reconnect to 2 gigabyte switches to repair that cable all my other problems I have fixed . The only way to easily replace the cable its to run another cable through the 2 rooms its now in which I deeply prefer not to do.

So I have this cable as it is now needs 2 new connectors to be fixed hence the trying 1 to add the listed earlier rj 45 pass through on the cable and I also tried the 1 port network boxes as I already had them both of these fixes did not work and I dont know why as I having trouble getting my explanation of what going on with the lan tests no many how time I post the info?

its 75 feet and already mounted to my baseboard and its was working last 8-10 yrs and right now it be hard to run a new patch cable do to my car accident and no once can do it for me as it is.

its when I swapped my router/modem with my switch thats when new problem occurred>

so you attached the jack to the 75' cable and the cable tester reported it is straight through and all lights green?

and what do you mean swap router with switch?

are we talking about this?

ISP --- Router -- 75' -- switch?

when I am testing the cable it shows all the lights blinking properly 18 and ground on the side that using the master side of my tester but the remote side of tester has a blinking pattern.
then I switch the lan tester connections to see if it has same problem and the side that was blinking properly now has a pattern and the side that had a pattern is blinking properly so how can that be?
here is the facebook that shows that happening at one point i did pause the video but when you just look at the light you can see

so its like I have a cat 5 cable with 2 new connectors one is on the left other is on my right.
now I take my lan tester that has a master and remote connections to test cables wtih
so I hook up my tester to the left side and the right side of cable is connected to the remote part of my lan tester
with this setup my light blink normally of the master side of tester and have a pattern on the remote side.
Now I swap my lan tester connections to see I am assuming that I will still see the same patterns of blinking light as before as nothing has changed with my cable
So now my master is on the right side of cable and on the left side I have testers connected to the lan tester remote side.
This is the time that I should still see same pattern of light as the cable is untouched I have not made any repairs to it but now the left side that was previously blinking normally has the pattern and my right side of
that had a pattern is blinking normally based on that setup I have no clue how to repair the cable by replacing the bad side that is needed.

as it is right now the switch that supplied my lan to a couple of device that needs that broken cable to be fixed will are using my WiFi connection right now and I have 1 new tester coming in today and another friday I will leave the cable alone as I want to see which if any of the new testers can solve the problem and I have 100 new pass through connectors that I can experiment with as no one seem to have any idea why my current tester is acting this way I dont just want to fix the problem I want to know what causing the problem.

I doubt it's the tester since the cable doesn't work.

So just redo the jacks. You should be seeing the same light pattern on both sides

http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Use-Network-Cable-Tester-/10000000177771440/g.html

Unless you damaged the cable somewhere in the middle. What kind of staple did you use?

The cable has been there 8-10 years with no problems and it used to have my router and modem working there as well. My switch was at my central location it the middle of my room but by switching devices it moved my router to a much closer location to be able to get better WiFi in my bathroom which works great now.
The process of the move cause of a problem that 2 cables started to fail so now my lan starts at my router goes up my to the ceiling and into my bedroom by come down the wall to my PC station and that has my 2nd switch.
From that switch it goes around my bedroom stapled to my baseboard about 75' and come back to living room near my HDTV and other wired devices.
Thats the cable that currently broken now the cable on my ceiling have been fixed so 2/3 of my repair is done.
I with that 75' cable I first tried to just fix the connectors using normal rj45 connector and that was not working so I had already bought the 1 port boxes awhile back and was hoping and wondering if I could use 1 box and then when that did not want to work and I seen how easy I could use my punch-down tool to fix the cable I tried that I just use 1' good patch cables to do a lan test and then hook the cable up to my lan.
I could not get a good connection that way and no clue why as they seem to work talking to the other Amazon customers that are using boxes.
So when all that I got these rj45 pass throughs as hey I might now be able to work with normal connectors anymore but I know how make rj 45 B straight through cables as while not a network expert I run a few lans in my day and I mean I put in the the old network that needing a could of simple rj 45 connector replaced but not sure why but I keep coming back to add the components and lan tester still failing without a clue which ends of my cable need to be fixed or why the 2 methods the pass through and the network plugs are failing.
I have watched a ton of youtube videos to no help butas was new to using the punchdown tool I want to see if I was doing anything wrong and what I saw and did was the same.

so just to be clear, we are talking this setup?

router lan port ---- 75' --- computer
?

it would be router lan port -- 40' -- 1st switch in bedroom --- 75' --- 2nd switch HDTV using 2 cables
there are 2 runs of cable the 40' going from my router to 1st switch thats fixed 75' cable going from 1st switch to 2nd that broken with 2 bad ??? connectors.
I bought a 1000' of cat 5 cable I used for the installation

So then the segment with the issue is the first switch to second switch? Have you tried eliminating either switch from the equation? Or change ports on switch for the 75' run.
