Trying to put Seagate Barracuda in External Enclosure

I usually format as a slave in regular ide in a system then move to the enclosure..

I just did that.

I just dont understand it. I put a WD in there...and sees it fine. I put a new Seagate 200 in there, NOPE, and even a new Seagate 80..nope. In each enclosure, with every friggin jumper configuration.

so..now its the question of.."enclosure made by" ..? very strange..
 
I have the EXACT same problem with my Bytecc enclosure and a Seagate BArracuda drive.

Anyone have any new ideas??

Let's just say the Bytecc tech support is about as good as their products....
