Trying to put Seagate Barracuda in External Enclosure

dont know what the deal is. even tried another enclosure...maybe seagates need to be formatted?

I usually format as a slave in regular ide in a system then move to the enclosure..

I just did that.

I just dont understand it. I put a WD in there...and sees it fine. I put a new Seagate 200 in there, NOPE, and even a new Seagate 80..nope. In each enclosure, with every friggin jumper configuration.

so..now its the question of.."enclosure made by" ..? very strange..

one is bytecc..i have used many of them

the other is system request

I have the EXACT same problem with my Bytecc enclosure and a Seagate BArracuda drive.

Anyone have any new ideas??

Let's just say the Bytecc tech support is about as good as their products....
