trying to network 2 computers with wireless cards need help

i installed my Linksys instant wireless PCI adapter and it gets "device cannot start, code 10" in device manager. i already have a 3com network card installed because this is the computer with the cable modem connection. i want to get the other computer in the house to be able to share this connection with the wireless cards, can anyone help me out?

Look for IRQ conflict, try to put the new card in a different pci slot.

i already tried disabling the com ports to free up IRQs but that still didnt fix it. i looked up the " code 10" error on microsoft's website and it just said


"This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all the drivers installed. (Code 10)

Try upgrading the device drivers for this device.

Solution button: Update Driver "

and that also didnt work.. btw using XP

Off the cuff, I would say you are haveing some driver problems. Make sure you have the latest firmware in the card and try to see if they have any drivers for your XP.

I currently have 2 cisco wireless card, one in my home pc and one in my laptop. I have them in ad hoc mode and am using ICS for my laptop. Works great.
