Trying to install Windows 7 64 bit Pro and having trouble.....

My wife's new laptop came with Windows 8, which I despise. I bought her a 240 GB SSD to speed up her laptop. After physically installing the new SSD I booted to the laptop BIOS and set the computer to boot from USB first. I have an image of Win 7 Pro 64 bit. I used Win 7 DVD/USB Download Tool to format a USB stick and copy the .iso to it. When I plug the stick into the the new laptop and reboot I get this error, "Reboot and select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key". I've plugged the usb stick into another computer and clicked on the install icon from within Win 7 and it starts copying Win 7 files. What gives with the wife's laptop???

Bingo!!!!!! Won't work in UEFI mode. Change to CSM and no problem.
Yep, and UEFI is off now, partitions are made with MBR instead of GPT type.. but shouldn't be a big deal... there's supposedly way to add boot device with UEFI on.

Sorry, but: Windows 8.1 + Classic Shell (a free start menu replacement) = pretty much indistinguishable (from the user's point of view) from Windows 7.
