I get that crap.... Any ideas?

I just formatted a few hours ago and I'm trying to install everything I had back on... It refuses to let me install DirectX

Any clue? By the way, I''m the damn administrator.

That's ridiculous. Especially for a freshly formatted machine. You should try and keep Windows as up-to-date as possible, and that includes installing SP2.

You should slipstream SP2 onto your install CD, reformat and reinstall. If you connect to the internet with an unpatched copy of XP, your machine can be infected in a matter of seconds.

Search this forum or Google for information on slipstreaming.

Wow I shouldn't have done that... SP2 screwed a lot of crap up... I'm constantly using 35%+ of my processor.... Taskmanager is using it too..

Everything loads slow and even when I scroll down and up it loads jerky.

Did you slipstream SP2 or install it on top of your existing Windows. Your PC may have a worm, which would explain the erratic behavior. Hence why I recommended the slipstream + reformat.

I don't have a worm, the only sites I have been to are safe ones... LS2.com, yahoo.com, and this one...

I've heard SP-2 was buggy.. Seems like I heard correct.

You don't have to listen to me, but my original recommendation still sounds. Your problems have nothing to do with SP2.

MrChad is giving you some very sound advice, Really. You do not have to go to any unsafe sites to pick up bugs etc.... SP2 is no more buggy than any other software on the market today. Install clean windows XP then SP2 and Antivirus protection, Then go online and update everything.
